Bolton's trails weave through our community, and offer us all a place to pursue any number of outdoor activities. Most of the town's trails are on public conservation lands, many of which have been acquired through the generous donations of Bolton citizens. Numerous trails do traverse some portion of private land, however, and we are grateful to those landowners who generously share their properties through trail easements and informal trail crossings.
HOW TO NAVIGATE THIS SITE AND THE PROPERTIES
Specific information and trail maps can be found on this site by searching the drop down menu for each property name. Image files exist for in-field mobile device users. Detailed PDF files can be downloaded providing higher resolution, property photographs, and other information.
New this year are GPS files in KMZ format. These GPS trail routes can be installed on your smartphone and provide real-time location information as well as property specific way point features. Use these files to track your progress and find your way! See the tutorial HERE.
GOOD PEOPLE, GREAT RESULTS
Between September 2015 and March 2016, Bolton's first library of GPS/GIS based digital trail maps were created by Jeff Larence with help from Gordon Taylor, Steve Rothman, Betsy Taylor-Kennedy, Larry Kunz, and Greg Matte. This completed work is our gift to trail users.
If you would like to get involved with the team, the BTC holds monthly meetings and everyone is welcome. Check out the meeting schedule and agenda under our Announcements page HERE.
